Joanne Dawson Super Science Fellow for Galactic Radio Astronomy University of Tasmania Ph: 03 6226 1971 Email: joanne[dot]dawson[at]utas.edu.au Research Interests My research focuses primarily on the evolution of the interstellar medium in the Milky Way and nearby galaxies, and in particular on the mechanisms by which the atomic medium is processed into molecular clouds. I am Primary Investigator on the SPLASH project (the Southern Parkes Large-Area Survey in Hydroxyl), which is the first large-scale, sensitive and unbiased survey of 18 cm OH in the Southern Galactic Plane. I am a member of the GASKAP project, which will use the Australian Square Kilometre Pathfinder Array to map the Galactic Plane and Magellanic system in the HI 21 cm and OH 18 cm lines. Publications My recent publications can be found here. (last updated: 01.10.2012) |
