Inaugural Astronomical Society of Australia
Summer School on Relativistic Astrophysics
Cradle Coast Campus, University of Tasmania
13th - 24th Jan 2008
It is our pleasure to invite you to participate in the inaugural
Astronomical Society of Australia and Australian National Institute for
Theoretical Astrophysics Summer School. This will be held at the
University of Tasmania's Cradle Coast Campus between Sunday January 13th
and Thursday January 24th 2008 and the subject of the inaugural school
will be Relativistic Astrophysics.
The aim of the school is to provide graduate students with an
up-to-date overview of topics in theoretical astrophysics, which have
significant international impact, outlining historical
development, current status, and future developments and questions.
Topics will include:
Lectures:
Cosmology
Particle Acceleration
Accretion Theory
Relativistic Jets
Astrophysical Optics
Workshops:
Gravitational Lensing
Astrophysical Visualization
N-body Simulations
X-ray Data Analysis
